Entry-Level Lab Technician

We are hiring an Entry-Level Lab Technician here in Columbus! An ideal candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in a scientific field and looking to build their career in a laboratory setting.

This opening will specifically be testing on paint products, with a focus on some basic wet chemistry. This is a 3rd shift (overnight position) in which you will start your work week on Sunday nights and will be done for the week when you are off Friday mornings (so you will still have Friday and Saturday nights off).

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to support an industrial paint manufacturing company in Columbus. This role involves coordinating the collection of random samples from production batches and conducting various complex testing processes to measure the physical characteristics of products.

Responsibilities

Follow batch ticket recipes with a high degree of accuracy for weights and measurements.Perform complex testing processes on production batches to measure the product's physical or chemical characteristics, including viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss, and color characteristics compared with standards.Conduct tests on materials from suppliers and production batches.Perform standard testing procedures, including preparation of materials, with attention to detail and high quality.Follow daily work plans for Lab Work Requests or project plans.Accurately document work in lab notebooks, either physical or electronic.Maintain and perform calibrations on machines.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a scientific field is strongly preferred, but would consider candidates without a Bachelors if they have some chemistry testing experience from another job.Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.25 - $25.25/hr.
