This position as an Associate Professional - Staff Engineer involves various activities related to environmental consulting. Situated in the Overland Park, KS office, you will engage in projects focusing on civil/environmental services, including landfills, landfill infrastructure, and composting. The role requires a motivated and eager learner who embraces teamwork and seeks professional development.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.Follow directions of the Project Manager to meet both client and company expectations.Apply knowledge to address engineering or scientific problems, review plans, and assist in work coordination under the direction of the Project Manager.Conduct fieldwork in varied terrain and weather conditions, including surveys, data gathering, construction quality assurance, and inspections.Perform office-based tasks such as CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans and facility diagrams, and preparing permit applications.Receive technical guidance on complex problems and seek supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.Travel approximately 20% of the time, primarily locally, with occasional overnight trips.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related major.Competency with MS Office and other computer software used in environmental consulting.Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D design software is ideal.Valid driver's license with a good driving record.Additional Skills & QualificationsProgress towards a professional engineering license or E.I.T certification is preferred.Familiarity with geology, environmental engineering, data collection, report writing, and field inspection.Experience with HAZWOPER training and construction quality assurance.Work EnvironmentThe role involves spending 50%-60% of the year working in the field on landfill sites, with the remaining 40%-50% in the Overland Park, KS office. The office environment includes cubicles and private office spaces for project managers and higher-level employees.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $31.25/hr.
