Job Title: Distribution Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an entry level engineer to join our team in North Carolina. The role involves supporting power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects across the state. This position requires a blend of engineering calculations and design work, including the replacement of deteriorating cables, transitioning overhead lines to underground, reconductoring distribution lines, and replacing aging poles. The designer will perform structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, and coordinate electric demand, fault currents, and protective devices.
Responsibilities
Conduct engineering calculations and design work for power distribution infrastructure upgrades.Replace deteriorating cables and move overhead lines to underground settings.Reconduct existing distribution lines and replace aging poles.Perform structural analysis of poles and guying.Coordinate electric demand, fault currents, and protective devices.Essential Skills
0-1 years of electric utility distribution design experience.Proficiency in distribution design, BOUD, Maximo, Smallworld, Bentley Open Utility Designer, and MicroStation.Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in the electric utility industry.Working knowledge of primary and secondary distribution systems and utility standards.Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles.Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals.Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
