Current openings are available in the Referral/Send Outs Department. These roles are primarily desk-based, requiring a dynamic yet less labor-intensive approach. While the majority of work will be on your feet and fast-paced, it is less physically demanding.
ResponsibilitiesScan samples into the system and perform data entry.Process and sort samples, then package them in the laboratory.Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis.Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.Send test requests to the proper location and release test results.Assist clients with any specimen-related requests or inquiries.Process specimens to be sent out to additional facilities.Provide support to various areas of the laboratory.Perform sample sorting, racking, and retrieving.Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner.Maintain a clean and safe work environment.Essential SkillsSpecimen collection and handling.Data entry and accessioning.Specimen processing.Additional Skills & QualificationsMust have at least a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.Must have reliable and consistent work history, but can come from a variety of industries.Basic computer skills are required.Reliable transportation is essential.Work EnvironmentThis is a lab-based environment where candidates will primarily work independently in sectioned-off areas. The department consists of 80 employees, with no patient contact. Employees help process lab samples in a production-based environment, handling various types of patient specimens such as urine and blood. The role offers a long-term career opportunity with significant growth potential, as most managers, supervisors, and team leads have started in similar roles and advanced through promotions.
