Position Specific Description

This position requires an immediate, in-person start on a part-time basis, with a planned transition to full-time employment during the summer. 

 

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) plays a critical role in strengthening NextEra’s ability to identify, assess, and manage risks that impact strategic goals. The successful implementation of ERM will digitize the end-to-end risk process, provide real-time insights into risk exposure across the organization, and establish clear mitigation strategies with transparent tracking. This enhanced approach reduces regulatory and compliance risk while supporting smarter, more informed decision-making.

 

As a Risk Analytics Intern, you will contribute to building this modern, data-driven ERM function, working alongside risk leaders and business units to support enterprise-wide risk initiatives.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with multiple Risk Leaders across NextEra to support enterprise-wide risk activities Assist in identifying, evaluating, and documenting key risks across business units Support risk management tasks, including mitigation strategy development and progress tracking Contribute to executive-level and C-Suite risk reporting materials Perform analytical work, including data analysis, metric evaluation, and preparation of insights Develop polished deliverables using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Participate in cross-functional discussions and build strong working relationships across the organization Support governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise risk processes Help maintain and update business-unit risk registers and compare entries against the enterprise Risk Library Assist with risk scoring activities such as Inherent Risk Rating (IRR), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and Residual Risk Rating (RRR)

Preferred Qualifications

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and general data analysis Experience with or interest in tools such as: Power BI ServiceNow Jira Familiarity with modern AI tools (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Copilot) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Interest in enterprise risk, predictive analytics, or regulatory compliance Coursework or project experience related to risk analysis, statistics, analytics, or business management

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree program in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

To be considered for an internship, you must be actively enrolled at a college or university as a full-time student seeking a bachelor’s degree or higher. You must also have a current cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher (on a 0.00 to 4.00 scale).
