OverviewThe Home Infusion Pharmacy Intake Coordinator is responsible for the intake of and registration of patients, insurance benefits, verification, and coordination of new admissions for Home Care Services. Additionally, responsible for preparing appropriate documentation required for processing, billing, and initiation of care.
Duties
Arranges for the efficient and accurate intake and registration of patients through use of computer, phone, and/or video, utilizing excellent customer service skills. Captures accurate referral information, including patient demographics and insurance, and reviews general information from admission booklets regarding policies, patients’ rights, patient financial responsibilities, complaint process, and emergency contact numbers. Verifies insurance and benefits for all applicable patient-reported coverage. Conducts patient interactions in a courteous and confidential manner to obtain and record patient demographic, insurance, and financial information.Accurately reviews and modifies information in the electronic medical record, completing all necessary forms. Reviews physician referral orders for completeness and accuracy. During the registration process, informs the patient of, and collects any financial responsibility for deductible, coinsurance and/or co-pay amount. EducationHS Diploma or equivalent
Licensure/Certificationn/a
Experience1 year of healthcare experience (Required).
Epic experience (preferred).
Home Infusion Pharmacy experience (preferred).
Experience with patient intake/registration and enteral order care coordination/enteral product delivery experience (preferred).
