Engineering Technician
Job Description They will assist the Engineer in Charge (EIC) of production and technical matter related to production/Facilities in the Media operations department. This includes, but is not limited to, all production/post/editing/software. They will also assist in all matters of HVAC/Venders and IT Network. A good working knowledge of the company's production process, schedule and deadlines is paramount. -Work closely with EIC and Broadcast Engineer. He/She will effectively communicate the status of problems; provide updates to progress on projects, and offer solutions to technical issues. • Operation of all video and playback/recording process including editing functions, audio and video input assignments, and setting of audio and video levels. • Routing of all audio and video signals to and from all sources and destinations. • A knowledge of all standards and format conversions and necessary equipment needed. • Operation of all software involved in the production process (Premiere, FCP, Label software, Caption Maker, etc) • Provide Media staff with professional and timely technical support. • Maintain knowledge and stay current on technological advances including computer software and hardware, media and entertainment technologies, television broadcasting, studio production and workstation products. • Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision • Adequate hearing and sight needed to keep TV equipment set to in-house standards. Skills and Requirements -Must have a High School Diploma -2 years of college preferably in communications or at least two years of experience in related position. -If no broadcast experience then must have a minimum to two years, preferably four years’ experience in related position
