We are seeking bright and enthusiastic candidates to join our Construction Observation & Testing Division as Geotechnical Engineering Technicians in Knightdale, NC. Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in building a career within the construction observation, environmental, and geotechnical consulting fields. As a Technician, you will offer comprehensive observation and testing services for geotechnical and environmental development projects, supporting geologists, engineers, and scientists for a diverse client base in both private and public sectors.

ResponsibilitiesPerform tests on soil, concrete, asphalt, and other materials at construction sites or in our laboratories.Conduct field testing, commonly involving moisture and density testing of soils using a nuclear density testing gauge.Work predominantly outdoors, adapting to various weather conditions.Observe and document construction activities to ensure compliance with technical specifications.Prepare daily field reports and test summaries documenting the work.Interact with contractors, clients, and personnel to evaluate site conditions and participate in work progress meetings.Essential SkillsProficiency in construction materials testing, including concrete and soil testing.Experience with soil sampling and materials testing.Ability to conduct engineering inspections.Familiarity with ACI, ICC, and nuclear gauge testing.A high school diploma or equivalent is required.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS or AS degree preferred, but not required.Interest in building a career in the field engineering, testing, and inspections marketplace.Enjoyment of working outdoors.NICET and/or ACI certifications preferred but not required.Work Environment

You will be based out of the Knightdale office and work on projects around the Triangle area. The role predominantly involves outdoor work, offering a great opportunity for those who prefer not to be confined to a desk.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
