**Description** SAIC is seeking an **Engineering Technician** in **Hanahan, SC.** **Job Responsibilities** (include, but are not limited to) **:** + Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly + Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions + Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions + Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment + Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts **Qualifications** **Required Education:** **Engineering Technician I:** + High School Diploma and three (3) years of experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance **Engineering Technician II:** + High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance **Engineering Technician III:** + High School Diploma with five (5) years of related experience doing any of the following: integration, manufacturing; or maintenance **Required Experience:** + Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following: + Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis + Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods + Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary + Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment **Desired Experience:** + Experience with cable fabrication **Required Clearance:** + Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance.
