Northrop Grumman, Mission Systems, is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team. This position will be supporting a cross discipline engineering team at our location in Beavercreek, Ohio.
Engineering Technicians perform hands-on activities and tasks associated with electrical and mechanical systems working with a variety of personnel and equipment to complete complex tasks unique to the Engineering team. These functions include assembly and installation of engineering hardware and test instrumentation, environmental test, RF measurements, and general lab operations. Technicians are also responsible for the associated system’s application, assembly, and check-out operations, including electronic configuration and programming. Activities include mechanical assembly, soldering, potting, wiring, using hand tools, multi-meters, and specialized testing equipment as well as working directly with Engineers.
Role description & Responsibilities:
• Work on various projects as assigned to help deliver novel technical solutions.
• The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels.
• Compiles reports, data, planning, and other items to for test planning and execution as well as engineering evaluation that will be presented to internal and external customers for evaluation.
• Candidates must be highly organized, attentive to detail, possess strong computer and communication skills.
• Perform construction and wiring of test fixtures and test chassis working from drawings, schematics and instructions.
• This role 100% on-site at our facility in Beavercreek, Ohio, with no work from home options.
The salary range is based on a full-time schedule and will be prorated to the extent the schedule is reduced.
Basic Qualifications:
• Completed High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience gathering, maintaining and compiling technical data.
• Able to read engineering documentation and reports including drawings and schematics.
• Capability to understand and follow work instructions to use various test equipment such oscilloscopes and spectrum & network analyzers.
• Candidate must be a US Citizen
• Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain the necessary US Government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
• College level coursework in electrical engineering.
• Proficiency with hands-on mechanical assembly, electronics testing, and electronics evaluation.
• A current and active security clearance with a periodic re-investigation OR an original adjudication date completed within the last 5 years.
