The Engineering Technician offers technical assistance in support of manufacturing operations for Medium Caliber Fuze and Projectile production. The role involves trouble shooting equipment and working with other team members to drive to root cause and corrective action for safety, quality and production issues. The technician utilizes a personal computer to carry out analyses and develop documentation. This position will be located on-site at our Rocket Center, WV location. No remote work opportunities will be available for this position. Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift as needed.

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Adhere to all department and plant safety rules.Comfortable working in energetic areas.Able to read and interpret part prints, machine schematics and product specifications.Familiarity with dial indexing machines and automated energetic assembly operations.Monitors gage and instrument calibrations. Ensures calibration cycles are not exceeded. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with external customers and all plant personnel.Work with tooling and equipment vendors to solve equipment issues.Develop Manufacturing Process and Documentation to ensure production hardware and test articles meet engineering and configuration requirements.Provide analysis and data to support review boards and investigations.Instruct machine operators on technique and the safe operation of manufacturing equipment.Perform observations of manufacturing process to establish reasonable expectation of daily throughput.Participate in continuous improvement activities for safety, quality and production.Prepare tooling sheets and assist operations in machine setup and debug.Participate in tooling design, fact finding, and failure investigations.Monitor manufacturing process through review of SPC data.Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent plus 6 years of additional related education or experience.Experience with gaging and SPC methods.Experience with computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CAD etc.Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting.Ability to work independently and as a team member.Ability to provide coverage on weekends and off shifts as needed.U.S. citizenship.Primary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
