Job Overview
This role oversees process engineering activities, equipment reliability, continuous improvement initiatives, and operator support within a high volume, single piece flow environment. The Engineering Supervisor ensures production readiness for new equipment and products, drives Lean Manufacturing initiatives, leads engineers and technicians, and maintains compliance with Quality Control Plans (QCP), DoD security requirements, and SQDIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity) priorities.

Skills and Requirements
Must Haves:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering in high volume or single piece flow environments
o Will be supervising a team of 4-7
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement
• Strong ability to respond rapidly to line stoppages and critical production issues
• Familiarity with DoD compliance and secure manufacturing standards
• Strong project management experience for equipment upgrades and improvements
• Experience supporting NPI launches and integrating new products into production
• Strong technical expertise in process control, equipment reliability, and manufacturing systems
• Ability to lead root cause analysis (5 Why, 8D)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to supervise and mentor engineering staff Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Process Improvement
• Lead improvements to existing equipment to enhance quality, consistency, scrap reduction, and reliability
• Ensure production lines run without interruption by addressing process weaknesses and equipment failures
• Partner closely with Maintenance on preventive strategies and reliability improvement plans
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment
• Validate new processes and equipment for compliance with quality, safety, and DoD standards
Process Control & Documentation
• Develop and maintain work instructions, process definitions, and control plans
• Implement robust process controls aligned with SQDIP priorities
• Ensure adherence to Quality Control Plans (QCP) for process/equipment changes
• Maintain documentation and traceability for all process changes per DoD and internal standards
Production & NPI Support
• Provide strong engineering support for single piece flow manufacturing
• Support NPI launches to ensure smooth integration of new products
• Work cross functionally with Quality, Design, and Operations teams to achieve production readiness
Leadership & Team Management
• Supervise and mentor Manufacturing Engineers
• Ensure engineering team support aligns with production priorities and schedules
Continuous Improvement & Lean
• Drive Kaizen events and Lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve productivity
• Promote 5S and Safety First culture across value streams
• Collaborate with CI specialists to train engineers on Lean principles
Root Cause, Corrective Actions & Customer Protection
• Lead 5 Why and 8D problem solving initiatives
• Support interim containment for quality issues
• Drive permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Collaborate with external customers (e.g., TWC) for configuration changes requiring approval
Stakeholder Alignment
• Collaborate with Value Stream Managers and Engineering Director to align priorities
• Ensure compliance with DoD security and process requirements
Accountability Metrics
• OEE: Improve equipment uptime and reliability
• Scrap Reduction: Reduce material waste and improve yield
• Cycle Time: Meet or exceed delivery targets through process optimization
• SQDIP: Achieve performance goals across all categories
• Kaizen: Track and report CI activities
• NPI Readiness: Ensure smooth product launch into production
• Training Completion: Ensure engineers/operators are trained on standard work and CI tools
• Corrective Action Closure: Complete and validate 8D/PCA actions
