Engineering Manager II
**About the Role** The Hailables team manages Taxi, Auto and Moto segments globally within Uber’s rides business. We are responsible for developing technology tailored to this industry, building our product offering in this space from the ground up. We want to be the top-of-mind choice for any rider who wants to hop on the back of a taxi, autorickshaw, or motorcycle. **What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points** \-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ---- 1. Lead an engineering team to deliver product features to customers with measurable impact. 2. Drive the right technical decisions for the team with a clear view on tradeoffs. 3. Enable productivity and velocity of an engineering team. 4. Manage performance of individual engineers, providing coaching and real time feedback. 5. Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, operations and other engineering teams. \-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ---- 1. Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 2. Proven experience in delivering high-quality software products with clear project plans and timelines. 3. Deep understanding of full-stack software development with experience leading both backend and front-end engineers. 4. Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners and dependent teams to drive alignment and execution of projects. \-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ---- 1. Experience in building large-scale customer-facing products. 2. Prior experience working in microservice architectures and distributed storage systems. 3. Proven experience in directly managing high-performing engineering teams, leveraging tech leads and senior engineers effectively. 4.
