Engineering Manager- Capital Projects
**About the role:** The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for leading,developing, and managing a team of 5–8 Project Engineers supporting capitalproject delivery at a major pharmaceutical client site. This role provides bothfunctional and people leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality projectengineering execution across the portfolio. The Project Engineering Managerpartners closely with Project Managers, Associate Project Directors,Operations, Quality, and external stakeholders to drive stakeholder satisfaction,risk mitigation, value realization, and talent development. This position is accountable for establishing standards,processes, tools, and metrics that enable scalable and repeatable projectengineering delivery while ensuring compliance with client requirements, CBREstandards, and industry best practices. **This position requires an on-site presence at our client’scampus in downtown Indianapolis 4-5 days a week.** **What you’ll do:** Lead,mentor, and manage a team of 5–8 Project Engineers, providing coaching,guidance, and performance feedback to ensure consistent execution andprofessional development. Ensureeach Project Engineer maintains an active development plan with documenteddiscussions, clear action items, and measurable progress throughout the year. Foster acollaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture aligned with CBREvalues and client expectations. Manageteam workload, resource planning, and assignment of Project Engineers toprojects in coordination with Project Managers and Associate Project Directors. Maintainand manage the annual Project Engineering team budget for training,development, team activities, and recognition. Serve asthe primary escalation point for Project Engineering engagement, performance,and issue resolution. Leadstakeholder feedback initiatives and collaborate with the capital projects teamand Associate Project Directors to continuously improve Project Engineeringengagement, effectiveness, and delivery. Periodicallymeet with Associate Project Directors and Project Managers to receive,document, and act on feedback regarding Project Engineer performance andengagement. Promoteconsistent application and sharing of Project Engineering standards, tools, andbest practices to drive alignment and scalability across projects and sites. Proactivelyidentify gaps in existing documents, tools, templates, and standards anddevelop new materials aligned with client policies, procedures, and industrynorms. Partnerwith Project Managers to determine when Project Engineer support is requiredand ensure appropriate coverage. Establishand maintain a centralized repository of historical Project Engineering data tosupport reporting, benchmarking, and continuous improvement. Track,document, and report project engineering value delivered, including costavoidance, schedule improvements, quality enhancements, and risk reduction. Promoteconsistent, productive, and respectful communication with all internal andexternal stakeholders. Act as atechnical and leadership resource to Project Engineers and project teams duringproblem-solving, risk mitigation, and decision-making. Promoteand maintain an environment consistent with CBRE values, including Respect,Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. **What you’ll need:** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Mechanical,Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline preferred). Minimum of 5+ years of engineering or capital projectexperience, preferably within a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturingenvironment. Prior people leadership or functional management experiencepreferred. Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC,and utility systems. Strong understanding of commissioning, qualification, andchange control processes. Demonstrated experience developing metrics, tracking value,and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work. Communication skills to exchange straightforward information. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
