Alteryx is building the next generation of cloud-native analytics, and Live Query is at the heart of that vision.We are looking for a seasoned tech lead or early-career engineering manager to lead one of the most impactful teams in our Cloud Engines group. This team owns the core execution layer that powers Alteryx Analytics Cloud — enabling interactive, scalable analytics directly on modern cloud data platforms.

In this role, you will help shape and deliver Alteryx Live Query, Alteryx for GCP, and other top-priority strategic initiatives. Your work will directly influence how customers experience analytics on cloud data warehouses, at scale, in real time.

What You’ll Do:Own and evolve the core execution layer for Alteryx Analytics Cloud, with a strong focus on Live Query–driven workloadsBuild systems that enable interactive, low-latency analytics on cloud data platformsLead delivery of strategic cloud initiatives, including Alteryx Live Query, Alteryx for GCP, and future cloud integrationsAct as a technical and architectural thought leader within the Cloud Engines groupWork closely with Product, Architecture, Platform, and peer Engineering teams to shape roadmap and executionLead, mentor, and grow a team of talented backend and distributed systems engineersBalance hands-on technical leadership with people management in a techno-managerial roleDrive execution across 1–2 parallel initiatives, owning outcomes end-to-endRepresent your team in engineering, planning, and release forumsPlay a pivotal role in delivering mission-critical roadmap items that impact the broader Alteryx platformCreate an environment that attracts, retains, and develops high-performing engineers.

What We’re Looking For:7+ years of experience as a software engineer, owning systems from design to production4+ years building or operating scalable, distributed data processing systemsStrong backend technical leadership experience using Go, Java, Scala, or similar technologiesProven system design skills for high-performance, reliable, cloud-native microservicesA strong sense of ownership, urgency, and bias toward action1–2 years of experience leading or managing a team of 3–5 engineersExperience driving projects with multiple stakeholders across engineering, product, UX, and QAExcellent communication skills and comfort working with globally distributed teamsAbility to operate independently with deep technical judgment and domain ownership.
