Bosch established its regional presence in North America in 1906 and now employs 41,000 associates in more than one hundred locations. **Bosch Building Technologies Integrator Business** The regional system integration business called Bosch Building Technologies offers solutions and customized services for building security, energy efficiency, and building automation for commercial buildings and infrastructure projects Bosch started its Integrator Business in North America through the acquisition of Climatec in 2015. Climatec expanded Bosch’s role as a comprehensive supplier of energy, building automation and security solutions. Climatec is recognized in the building industry as an independent single-source integrator of critical building systems including energy services, building automation and security & life safety in the U.S. market. The company provides consulting, planning, implementation and 24/7 remote management. Climatec is active in several market segments and industries including data centers, commercial real estate buildings, and federal, state, and local government. Climatec has operated as an independent entity, maintaining its offices in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, New York, and New Jersey. Climatec continues to represent and integrate numerous leading manufactures’ product lines across its wide range of services, including Bosch products. In 2023, Bosch acquired Canadian-based security integrator Paladin Technologies. Merging Paladin Technologies and Climatec will significantly expand Bosch’s Integrator Business in North America. Today the combined entity of Bosch Building Technologies (previously Climatec and Paladin Technologies) represents over $800M in revenues and 2800 associates. Utilizing the strengths of both companies, Bosch offers its customers a complete portfolio of networked and efficient energy, building automation and security solutions. **Job Summary:** **Responsibilities:** + Oversees the engineering and PSG teams, sets priorities for engineering backlog, and maintains engineering standards for the office. 1. For the engineering team this position provides direct supervision technically and developmentally for assigned employees. This includes HR functions, financial and technical training and mentoring, and day to day support to achieve better than estimated productivity on assigned projects. 2. For setting priorities this position provides input to sales and operations regarding the technical and business considerations for construction or direct owner projects. This input could be associated with areas such as estimating, timing, special resource needs, or other aspects peculiar to specific projects. 3. For engineering standards this position tracks the efficiency of the assigned employees, determines skills level of team, assigns developmental goals and selects training options as necessary + Completes labor staffing worksheets and coordinates with other GOSs, GOMs, Sales, or Operations Managers to ensure appropriate staffing levels for both overall headcount as well as anticipated skill sets. + Determines if customer expectations are similar to Bosch’s and if these can be achieved based upon Bosch’s estimate or contractual scope. Provides feedback on this as appropriate internally and externally. + Recommends technical solutions to sales and operations. + Identifies and documents scope deficiencies. Communicates deficiencies to Sales and Operations for them to pursue change order opportunities. + Possesses knowledge of general building systems (HVAC, SLS, IT Networks, etc.) and can provide Bosch and other contractors basic solutions to building operation issues. + Provide leadership and input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systems. + Communicate with external organizations as required such as consulting engineers, building owners, and other contractors to ensure accurate and timely engineering. + Provide quality control checks on all engineer output. + Review engineering submittals for accuracy against the contracted scope of work, specifications, plans and office standards. + Develop white papers/training tools to educate engineers/project managers/specialists on products, designs, and engineering processes. + Maintains and develops local design tool libraries (Drawing Templates) + Develops and maintains estimating templates (bidtracer templates) + Develops/Maintains standards materials list + Vendor liaison. Works with vendor representatives to keep pace with new product offerings. Arranges lunch & learns with vendors. + Trains and Mentors new Design Specialists + Develops and maintains project documents and templates + Interfaces with project managers and specialists for design feedback and future design considerations + Preconstruction + Work directly with sales to review estimates based upon bid documents. + Identify scope deficiencies and provide RFIs for clarifications + Assess project systems and sequences for inadequacies. Write RFIs to address inadequacies. + Provide risk assessments + Provide a conceptual SLS system design for engineering to follow. + Other duties as assigned. **Supervisor Duties:** In accordance with applicable Company policies/procedures and Federal/State laws, will perform the following supervisory responsibilities: planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. **Professional Competencies:** **Required Qualifications:** + Minimum of high school diploma. + Experience and expertise including but not limited to: + 5+ years of basic computer operating systems as well as a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD. + The ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams. + A working understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc. (120VAC and greater) + Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing. + An ability to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfaction. + A deep understanding of Climatec / BBT’s leadership culture and values. + An ability to work with assigned employees to motivate and develop them and ensure their success. + A strong business and financial awareness and the ability to apply these to a portfolio of projects to maximize cash flow, profits, and customer and employee satisfaction. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Minimum of two-year technical degree in HVAC or Electronics related studies. An undergraduate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management, or other related studies is excellent. Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management. + BidTracer experience + Experience quoting SLS projects + Experience reviewing and approving fire alarm plans **PHYSICAL DEMANDS:** In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. + Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers + Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment + Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites + The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet) **WORKING CONDITIONS:** In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. + The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate + Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without BBT colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables.
