Engineering Executive
Job: Engineering Executive Work Level: WL1B Work Location: Sonepat Factory, HUL Role PurposeTo ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant electrical systems through effective maintenance and troubleshooting of VFD-driven equipment, motors, MCC/PCC panels, and basic PLC-based control systems, while strictly adhering to electrical safety protocols and statutory compliance.________________________________________Key Responsibilities1. Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting• Carry out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of:o VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) for process equipment such as fans, pumps, blowers, conveyors, compressors, etc.o Induction motors, starters (DOL, Star–Delta, Soft starters), and field control panels.o MCC and PCC panels including feeder protections, contactors, busbars, power cables, and I/O wiring.• Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic tools and OEM manuals.• Ensure proper cooling, ventilation, and cleanliness of electrical panels and drive rooms.________________________________________2. VFD Systems – Brand-Specific Experience• Hands-on experience in operation, troubleshooting, and parameter setting of one or more of the following VFD brands:o ABB (ACS150/350/550/580/800 series)o Siemens (Micromaster, Sinamics V20, G120, S120)o Danfoss (VLT Automation Drive FC series)o Schneider Electric (Altivar ATV 312/320/630/930)o Yaskawa (GA series)• Ability to:o Read and interpret VFD fault/trip codeso Modify drive parameters such as acceleration/deceleration ramps, PID control, current limits, torque limits, and braking functionso Reset faults related to overcurrent, overvoltage, earth fault, thermal overload, and communication errorso Coordinate with OEM service engineers for advanced drive issues and firmware updates• Perform VFD health checks, including:o Fan operation and filter cleaningo IGBT temperature monitoringo Earth leakage and insulation checkso Harmonics and power quality observation________________________________________3. Basic PLC & Automation Handling• Basic working knowledge of PLC systems such as:o Siemens (S7 200 / S7 1200 / S7 300)o Allen Bradley (MicroLogix / CompactLogix)o Schneider (M221 / M340) – basic exposure• Ability to:o Monitor PLC inputs/outputs onlineo Trace basic interlocks and permissiveso Identify field vs panel-side electrical issueso Assist automation engineers during logic modifications and shutdown activities• Basic HMI/SCADA navigation for alarm monitoring and status checks.________________________________________4. Motor & Panel Maintenance• Motor maintenance activities including:o Insulation Resistance (IR) testing using meggero Bearing condition checks and replacement supporto Alignment verification (basic)o Cable termination, lug crimping, and gland sealing• Maintenance of MCC/PCC and control panels:o Busbar tightening and torque checkso Thermography coordinationo Interlock checkingo Panel housekeeping and labeling________________________________________5. Safety, Compliance & Documentation• Strict adherence to Electrical Safety Standards, including:o LOTO (Lockout/Tagout)o Permit to Work systemo PPE usage and arc flash safety practices• Knowledge of relevant Indian Electricity Rules, IS/IEC standards.• Maintain accurate documentation:o Work orders in DMSo Breakdown and RCA reportso PM checklists and equipment history cards• Participate in internal and external EHS and electrical audits.________________________________________6. Coordination & Support• Coordinate with production, utilities, automation, and EHS teams.• Supervise electrical technicians and external contractors.• Support plant shutdowns, startups, and capacity enhancements.________________________________________Qualification & Experience• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering• 3–6 years of experience in plant electrical maintenance• Proven exposure to VFD-driven systems in manufacturing environments such as FMCG, food processing, chemical, pharma, or power-intensive plants.________________________________________Technical Skills Summary• VFD operation & troubleshooting (brand-specific)• Motor protection and maintenance• MCC/PCC panels and power distribution• Basic PLC diagnostics and HMI monitoring• Electrical safety systems (LOTO, earthing, protection relays)• Electrical drawings and SLD interpretation________________________________________Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)• Reduction in electrical breakdowns and VFD-related trips• PM compliance percentage• Electrical safety compliance (zero LOTO violations)• Improvement in power factor and energy efficiency• Timely closure of RCAs and audit observations Job Category: Supply Chain Job Type: Full time Industry:
