About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Engineering Associate – Infrastructure Automation to join the Chief Technology Office (CTO), aligned to Technology Operations & Support within IT Service Operations (ITSO). This entry‑level role supports the development and operation of automated patch management that maintains and secures the bank’s server and host environments used across the enterprise.
As part of the team, you will assist with the development, enhancement, testing, and support of automation solutions built using C#, .NET Core, Python, and SQL. These solutions enable automated capabilities that help application and server owners manage maintenance windows and patch deployments across production, test, and development environments.
The position provides hands‑on exposure to software engineering, automation, and infrastructure operations, while working under the guidance of senior engineers and following established engineering standards, change controls, and risk management practices within a highly regulated environment.
You will also participate in the Career Opportunities in Development and Engineering (CODE) Program — a two‑year development program that runs alongside your full-time experience. CODE is designed for recent grads, coding bootcamp alumni and individuals with hands-on technical experience looking to break into tech. No four‑year degree is required.

In this role, you will:
Assist with the development and support of automation applications that enable enterprise server and host patching.
Contribute code and enhancements using C#, .NET Core, Python, and SQL, following established development standards and guidance.
Support Patching‑as‑a‑Service workflows by helping test, validate, and execute server maintenance activities.
Assist in building and maintaining customer‑facing portals that allow internal users to schedule maintenance windows and initiate patching activities.
Participate in testing activities across production, test, and development environments to ensure automation behaves as expected.
Monitor automation outcomes and assist with creating incident reports, documentation, and operational evidence when issues occur.
Follow documented runbooks, procedures, and timelines to support reliable service delivery.
Collaborate closely with senior engineers to learn enterprise automation tooling, platform standards, and operational practices.
Comply with Wells Fargo requirements related to change management, security controls, risk discipline, and documentation.
Actively learn and apply engineering best practices while growing technical skills in an enterprise environment.
Required Qualifications:
6+ months of Technology Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
6+ months of hands‑on experience or coursework using C# and modern .NET (.NET Core) gained through coursework, projects, training, or hands on experience.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command line tools.
Experience or coursework using Python for automation or scripting.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.
Interest in automation, infrastructure tooling, and large‑scale system operations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work against well‑defined timelines.
Ability to analyze issues and contribute to incident reporting and root‑cause documentation.
Familiarity with enterprise server environments (Windows or Linux) is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, managing email and calendars in Outlook, and building presentations in PowerPoint.
Experience communicating technical issues or access-related concerns across technical and non-technical teams.
Bachelor’s in computer science or related field preferred but not required.
Job Expectations:
The selected candidate for this role must be able to begin employment by March 18, 2026, in a full‑time capacity. This position is required to work from the designated posted office location and must be able to meet all expectations of the current hybrid work schedule, including regular in‑office attendance as defined by the team and program requirements.
Participation in an on-call rotation approximately once every six weeks to support production systems.
Actively engage in the two-year CODE Program, including participation in training, mentorship, networking events, and career development activities.
Relocation assistance is not provided for this role.
