Job Summary:
The Manager Engineering and Projects is responsible for leading both the Design Engineering and Project Delivery teams. This role provides technical expertise, project leadership, and staff management to ensure high-quality design, efficient project delivery, and client satisfaction across all commercial audio-visual projects. The position oversees engineering design, documentation, project execution, and continuous improvement of standards, while mentoring staff and ensuring alignment between engineering, projects, sales, and operations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management
Manage and mentor Design Engineers, Project Managers, and project delivery staff. Oversee staff development, training, and succession planning. Approve timesheets, leave requests, and allocate resources across engineering and projects. Forecast labour requirements, identify gaps or surpluses, and coordinate resourcing to meet balance needs. Lead regular team meetings and foster collaboration between Engineering, Projects, Sales, and Operations. Promote professionalism, accountability, and a high-performance culture.Engineering & Design
Lead system design from project briefs and technical specifications. Prepare and review system documentation including schematic diagrams, cabling schedules, room layouts, and technical manuals. Ensure all designs meet functionality, quality, and compliance standards. Provide technical input at tender stage and project commencement. Investigate and integrate new technologies and solutions. Support sales with technical expertise, system design, and product knowledge. Review and approve engineering outputs for suitability.Project Delivery & Supervision
Oversee multiple complex audio-visual projects. Supervise installation and commissioning of complex control, audio, and video systems. Review project designs, ensuring alignment between sales, engineering, and delivery. Provide client consultation during pre- and post-sales stages. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to company quality standards. Monitor and improve project management procedures, policies, and tools. Attend sites as needed for supervision and support.Interdepartmental Collaboration
Work closely with Sales to support tendering and project handovers. Collaborate with Operations and Service teams to improve inter-departmental workflows. Ensure clear documentation and communication across teams and clients.Continuous Improvement
Maintain and improve design and project procedures to ensure best practice. Identify inefficiencies and lead remedial action plans. Stay current with new technologies, industry trends, and compliance requirements. Promote market-leading design and project solutions for clients and partners. Foster and promote the company, product, and brand in the market Promote and live the Company Mission, Vision and Values Comply with Company policies and procedures, including the completion of documents and records Promote and work with Standard Operating Procedures to ensure uniform quality standards in all areas of the business Other duties as required
Qualifications & Education Requirements
Required:
Complete Diversified online modules regarding WHSEQ, manual handling and Environment. Project Management Qualification Engineering or related qualificationsDesirable:
