Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), Bellevue, NE is currently seeking Engineer Software/Principal Engineer Software. The successful candidates will demonstrate a broad skill set balanced between interpersonal and technical capabilities achieving sustainable quality products. They will have a track record as an effective communicator and problem solver who is able to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The selected candidates will participate in the entire software development lifecycle with a concentration in software engineering. The candidates will work closely with other software developers accomplishing the following:

Complete work independently and as a part of an Agile teamSupport team in completing necessary software on scheduleSolve complex problems through innovative and creative solutionsCollaborate with software designers and/or software engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of software systemsRegularly demonstrate progress to customers

Basic Qualifications for an Engineer Software:

Engineer Software:A high school diploma with a minimum of 6 years of software development experienceA Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 2 years of software development experienceA Master of Science degree in a STEM field with 0 years of software development experiencePrincipal Engineer Software:A high school diploma with a minimum of 9 years of software development experienceA Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 5 years of software development experienceA Master of Science degree in a STEM field with 3 years of software development experienceStrong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with small technical teamsExperience with Infrastructure as Code automationExperience with DevSecOps principles and practicesExperience working in Agile software development environmentsAbility to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish project resultsAbility to obtain/maintain access to work on-site in Bellevue, NEAbility to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Infrastructure as Code:Container Management Platforms such as RKE2, AWS, OpenShift, etc.Automation technologies such as Ansible, Helm, etc.Virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Proxmox, etc.Experience with DevSecOps:Implementing and maintaining CI/CD software pipelinesAutomating the securing and hardening software productsEnabling operations and maintenance activities with Infrastructure as CodeCreating solutions that encourage Dev-Prod ParityExperience with Data Architectures and Data Streaming:Implementing tools to support Data Mesh or Data Fabric platformsDesigning domain-oriented data architecturesSupporting data governance and policy with tooling and automationExperience with microservices patterns and creating solutions that run in a containerized environmentExperience with object-oriented programming, web development frameworks, and full stack application architecturesDemonstrated use of configuration management (Git, Bitbucket, Mercurial, Ansible Galaxy)Demonstrated use of collaboration tool suites (Atlassian, GitLab)Current DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $77,200.00 - $115,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
