Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s TMNA Press Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual who possesses exceptional technical skills with abilities to solve systematic problems.

The primary responsibility of this role is to be the Press Equipment Subject Matter Expert.  Supporting NAM’s with production improvements and equipment downtime reduction through inspection, process improvement, and long-term equipment strategy development.  Support new equipment specifications, standards, installation and commissioning.  Modifications of existing equipment.  Supporting Planning, Project Engineers, Seibi, and Controls providing guidance and direction through mentorship and technical training while strengthening Toyota’s skillset.

What you’ll be doing

Performing equipment inspection and documentation

Supporting (MBD) Major Breakdown recovery and long-term countermeasures

Developing equipment standards and overhaul plans

Developing technical skill sets to support troubleshooting

Develop technical training

Confirm that new model equipment meets set standards and performs as intended

Prepare and confirm new Press equipment at the vendors

Support confirmation and adjustment of existing press equipment to meet standards and targeted running conditions.

Support Press Equipment Seibi activity at North American Manufacturing Companies with installation, modification, start of production, and GSPH improvement support

Engage in travel (or dispatch) to U.S., Canada and/or Mexico NAMCs and suppliers, as well as foreign travel including but not limited to Japan, Canada, Mexico.  Commonly work overtime, including weekends and holidays

What you bring

Associate Technical Degree (or higher), or equivalent experience

3+ years as SEIBI or Press Shop maintenance or engineering experience

Read and understand Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic schematics/prints

Machining Experience (Mill, Lathe, Saws, Welding, etc.)

Knowledge of Mechanical Presses, Servo Presses, and Aux equipment

Experience with PLC’s, Drives, and Servo. Material Handling Robots

Experience Applying General Industry Safety Standards

Ability to travel up to 75% at times (including international travel)

Experience as a mentor / technical trainer

Added bonus if you have

Eight+ years Toyota experience

Technical writing skills

Experience in ACAD, Catia, or other design platforms

Experience in PLC, Drive, and Robot programming
