The Senior Nuclear Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise and performing advanced engineering tasks to support the operation of nuclear plants. The role requires applying nuclear industry standards and regulations to new situations, managing engineering projects, and serving as a consultant for supervision.
ResponsibilitiesPerform highly complex engineering tasks requiring knowledge and experience with nuclear industry standards and regulations.Lead discussions in group settings to resolve problems and coordinate design production.Apply nuclear industry standards and regulations to solve new problems and address situations.Serve as a technical liaison within the nuclear business unit.Prepare and review Engineering Change packages per the Standard Design Process.Manage engineering vendor activities including developing specifications, statements of work, bid evaluations, and owner acceptance reviews.Ensure compliance with plant safety requirements and perform system trend analyses.Support capital modification implementation and turnover, including outage or emergent modifications.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Engineering.11 - 15 years of experience in advanced engineering tasks within the nuclear industry.Minimum of 3 years nuclear experience.Knowledge of regulatory industry standards and codes.Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 process.Additional Skills & QualificationsPE preferred, may substitute for degree.Experience with civil and structural design engineering preferred.Experience with drafting GT Strudel, welding rigging, seismic qualification, pipe supports, and pipe stress analysis preferred.Work EnvironmentThe role requires working independently with wide latitude to exercise judgment over technical solutions. The work involves preparing Design Change Packages and supporting project implementation in a nuclear plant setting, with adherence to industry standards and regulations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $70.00/hr.
