Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems provides an excellent opportunity for an Engineer Field (25-429) to become part of our skilled and diverse team. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this position plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not offer relocation support and requires on-site attendance, with no remote work options available.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a critical component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.

Sustainment staff position reporting directly to the Fielding Lead under the C2BMC Deployment Team. The position requires the ability to plan, implement, and participate in sustaining engineering, fielding, and logistics activities.

Essential Functions:

Will participate in multiple activities, including reviewing projects for sustaining engineering impacts, tracking and prioritizing Service Requests, and implementing improved methods for monitoring maintenance actionsMust have the ability to plan, organize, control, and execute the deployment of the C2BMC system to Combatant Commanders' locations at both CONUS and OCONUS sitesThe candidate will be involved in several projects, from initial planning and site surveys to on-site installation at COCOMsFocus areas include:Developing fielding and installation plans, instructions, and detailed schedulesMonitoring equipment design and construction through production, organization, and execution of ship readiness reviewsDelivering products and spares to the sitesManaging on-site installation and checkoutMay also support logistics activities within the O&S IPT, such as reviewing sustainment plans, planning for deployments, and developing operating processesRequires close coordination with other functional areas on the National Team and government counterparts at the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)Should have a working knowledge of DoD Command and Control, C4I, or weapon systems deploymentSubject to a government security investigation and required to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified informationSustaining Engineering, Logistics, Fielding, process identification and implementation; self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills; capable of working independently; proficient in multitasking; experienced with diverse site locationsSustaining engineering, equipment fielding (installation), logistics, supply support, and troubleshooting tickets

Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 2 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 0 years of relevant work experience; or 6 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degreeApplicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to startWillingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needsMust be capable of installing racks on raised floors, performing rack interconnect wiring, installing and wiring individual subcomponents within racks, setting up monitors/KVM/workstation solutions at various user locations, conducting acceptance testing, coordinating efforts with other Cross-Functional Product Teams needed to complete an installation, and providing daily status reports

Preferred Qualifications:

Working with deployed forces in remote locations and understanding different international cultures is a plus

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Primary Level Salary Range: $67,200.00 - $100,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
