Schedule for this role: Monday-Friday, 4-10 hour shifts, 7am-5:30pm, with one day off during the week. Take call one weekend every 2-3 weekends and working 1 holiday/year.

Summary

Supports activities in the care of the gastroenterology (GI) patients. Performs duties relative to procedures under the direct supervision of the physician and registered nurse.

Job Description

Join our new gastrointestinal center, as we expand our services, we are excited to open an Endoscopy Technician role. As an Endoscopy Technician you will provide care for those coming into our unit for procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies. You will:

Prepare procedure rooms

Transport patients to procedure rooms and assist with hooking up to monitors

Assist with procedures such as, biopsies, polypectomies, and assist with post-procedure patient care

Clean, disinfect, and set-up scopes or other endoscopic instruments

Stock procedure rooms, refill inventory within the unit, complete routine housekeeping and supply management

Qualifications

High school education is required

Sanford provides employee: Associates Program Certificate of Completion through the Society of Gastrointestinal Nurses and Associates within 8 months of hire, and Basic Life Support (BLS) required within six months of hire

Must fulfill six Continuing Education Units per year according to Sanford Health and unit requirements (four will be GI specific)
