Job Title: EMS Driver Department: Emergency ServicesLocation: St. Lawrence RegionHours Per Week: Per DiemSchedule: Variable Position Summary: The ambulance operator is responsible to provide high quality emergency transportation to sick and injured patients. Key Responsibilities: + Responds to calls when dispatched + Inspect the ambulance before each shift, checking the fuel, oil, transmission fluid, wiper fluid, and coolant, reporting any needed repairs. + Check the first aid and medical supplies inventory levels before each shift and ensure the ambulance is well stocked + Assist patients onto gurneys and loading them into and out of the ambulance + Keep inside and outside of ambulance clean + Sanitize the ambulance and safely dispose of any medical waste and soiled linens + Administer first aid such as bandaging, splinting, and administering oxygen. + Maintain driving log with daily entries and noting patients’ names and addresses, travel times, mileage and service performed + Report accident facts to medical personnel and police officers, when necessary Desired Attributes: • Minimum two years’ driving an ambulance preferred Minimum Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED Required Licensure/Certification: • AHA BLS • NYS Driver’s License EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. PAY RANGE: $17.00 - $18.00 CITY: Potsdam POSTAL CODE: 13676 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
