Overview

EMS Customer Service Representative/Call Taker with day and night shifts available in Elmhurst, IL.

Superior employs more than 3,000 licensed EMT, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin with over 55 locations. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation. EMTs and Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior provides the highest quality care in emergencies and scheduled medical transports.


Responsibilities

The primary duties and responsibilities of the EMS Customer Service Representative consist of, but are not limited to the following:

Answer, screen, and direct calls for entire companyDistinguish the need for emergency transportationPre-arrange transport for facilities while determining the level of care needed for the patientsArrange specialty and critical care transportationProvide information and assistance for customer service inquires as neededCommunicate with multiple departments and EMS personalProvide supportive information to customers to assist them in arranging appropriate transportDevelop effective solutions for customer service issuesDirect calls to Flight Desk as appropriateAll other duties as assigned 
Qualifications

Pleasant, professional phone mannerDetail orientedTyping skills of 30 wpm or betterAbility to excel in high-stress environmentAdapt to frequently changing policiesAbility to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognizing when to apply themMedical background a plusMust pass 2-3 weeks of training EMD certification will be provided by Superior within 1 year of employment High School Diploma or GED

Salary Range

USD $18.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr. rates offered based on years of experience and full time scheduled templates.
