Emissions Testing Technician
Job Title: Emissions Testing Technician Job Description As an Emissions Testing Technician, you will play a crucial role in setting up and operating chassis dynamometers and emission analyzers to support vehicle testing. Your responsibilities will include executing EPA drive cycles, handling particulate filters, and maintaining test cell organization. You will also assist with scheduling, safety protocols, and work in extreme temperature chambers ranging from -35°C to 50°C. Responsibilities + Set up and operate 2WD and 4WD chassis dynamometers. + Execute EPA drive cycles such as FTP 75, US06, and HFET. + Handle particulate filters in clean environments. + Maintain test cell organization and assist with scheduling. + Adhere to safety protocols and work in extreme temperature chambers. + Compile accurate test documentation and maintain organized records. + Manage particulate filters and sensitive equipment in contamination-controlled settings. + Use hand and power tools, hoists, and fabrication equipment effectively. Essential Skills + Proficiency in setting up and operating chassis dynamometers. + Experience with EPA drive cycles and emission testing protocols. + Mechanical aptitude, including general automotive repair and vehicle maintenance. + Familiarity with emission data collection tools and software. + Strong safety mindset and adherence to testing protocols. + Ability to compile accurate test documentation. + Experience managing particulate filters in clean environments. + Skilled in using hand and power tools and fabrication equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School Diploma required; AA degree or trade school preferred. + Minimum 2 years of experience in emissions testing and chassis dyno operation. + ASE certifications and OSHA 30-hour safety training preferred. + Must have a clean driving record. + Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and diagnostic software. + Experience in general automotive repair or testing environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ann Arbor, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $26.50/hr.
