Embedded Test Engineer
Job Title: Embedded Test EngineerJob Description This role primarily focuses on writing test plans and requirements, with a breakdown of 10% coding, 20% requirements analysis, and 70% testing and debugging. The Embedded Test Engineer will be involved in the complete development lifecycle of embedded software, including software authoring, reviewing, and debugging embedded C software. Responsibilities + Write and review test plans and requirements for embedded software. + Debug embedded C software and perform root cause investigation for problem reports. + Utilize development tools to analyze software performance, including stack/memory usage, timing margins, and structural coverage of verification. + Create test strategies for software requirements and support investigation of software verification failures. + Support audits conducted by customers and government authorities. Essential Skills + Minimum of 4 years of embedded experience. + Proficient in C language and understanding of microcontroller architectures and operational principles. + Experience with version control tools and concepts, as well as lifecycle management tools, including requirements tracing validation and verification, and problem reporting. + Skilled in debugging embedded systems using simulations. + Experience in the aerospace or medical device industries. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of DO-178 or IEC standards. + Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in electrical, computer, software engineering, or computer science. + Familiarity with MISRA C standards and principles of power electronics. + Ability to read schematics. Work Environment The position requires working five days a week in a professional environment. The engineer will utilize various development tools and technologies, including oscilloscopes, to ensure the software meets industry standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Twinsburg, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.10 - $44.23/hr.
