Embedded Test Engineer
Job Title: Embedded Test EngineerJob Description This role primarily involves writing test plans and requirements, with a focus on testing and debugging embedded systems. The work distribution is approximately 10% coding, 20% requirements, and 70% testing/debugging. Key activities include authoring and reviewing software, debugging embedded C software, investigating root causes of problem reports, analyzing software performance, and creating test strategies for software requirements. Additionally, the role involves supporting software verification failure investigations and audits by customers and government authorities. Responsibilities + Complete development lifecycle of the embedded software. + Author and review software documentation. + Debug embedded C software and investigate root causes of problem reports. + Utilize development tools to analyze software performance, including stack/memory usage, timing margins, and structural coverage of verification. + Create test strategies for software requirements. + Support investigations of software verification failures. + Assist in audits conducted by customers and government authorities. Essential Skills + 5+ years of embedded experience. + Proficiency in C language and assembly language. + Understanding of microcontroller architectures and operational principles. + Knowledge of version control tools and lifecycle management tools. + Experience in debugging embedded systems with simulations. + Familiarity with software testing and writing software test plans. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the aerospace or medical device industry. + Knowledge of DO-178C and IEC61508 standards. + A Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in electrical, computer, software engineering, or computer science. + Understanding of MISRA C standards. + Principles of power electronics and capability of reading schematics. + Proficiency in C++ and using oscilloscopes. Work Environment The role is based in a professional environment, working five days a week. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires adherence to industry standards and regulations.
