The individual hired for this position will lead an agile development team to design, develop, integrate, and test software features on embedded electronic controls for use in Caterpillar machine applications primarily focused on Medium Wheel Loaders. This role will be critical in leading the software development teams working to update these applications to the latest hardware and software architectures along with positioning for future technology updates.

What You Will Do:

Design, planning and coordination of all levels of software required to build production flash filesMachine software feature development for both Real-Time and Linux Operating SystemsDefinition of detailed software specsOrganization of individual subsystem diagrams and software libraries for integrationIntegration of software features taken from models and libraries to create software flash filesIntegration of configuration and calibration dataTest plan development and software validationLeading deployment of SIL, AutoSAR, ACE Software Architecture, UMI StandardizationSupport and communication of software releases, including documentation required by field follow and/or customers for successfully updating software, wiring and componentsIdentification and resolution of software defects, and proper issue list submissions and managementLead software design reviewsDrive software commonality and reuse between different machine applications where possible

•           Trains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality reviews.

Technical Troubleshooting:

•           Plays a leadership role in resolving complex, multi-component failures.

•           Develops and demonstrates an extensive knowledge base and best practice on how to troubleshoot non-recurring and performance-related problems.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

Extensive experience developing embedded software for electronically controlled mechanical systemsExperience with modeling tools such as Matlab/Simulink in an embedded software environmentFundamental understanding of mobile machine operation, ideally construction equipment and operationsBasic knowledge of Linux operating systemsExperience with data link communicationsExperience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modesExperience with embedded software development tools such as ClearCase, Git, debuggers, and compilersStrong communication skills, good organizational and time management skills, and the ability to identify needed actions and act to resolve issues with minimal oversightAdvanced engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer EngineeringAbility to communicate technical information effectively with a diverse group

Additional Details:

This position requires the candidate to work full-time onsite at the Mossville, IL office.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.10% travel is required for this role

Summary Pay Range:

$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
