Job Title: Embedded Software Product Owner
Job Description
The Embedded Software Product Owner is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and delivery of embedded software solutions in an Agile environment. This role collaborates closely with engineering teams, program management, and key stakeholders to ensure successful sprint outcomes, high-quality software releases, and alignment with customer requirements and mission-critical program objectives.
Responsibilities
Maintain a well-organized and prioritized product backlog.Provide documentation and updates during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.Deliver regular project status updates to stakeholders, including risks and mitigation strategies.Ensure all delivered software meets acceptance criteria and aligns with customer expectations.Partner closely with the development team to support smooth sprint execution and delivery.Facilitate decision-making to resolve ambiguities and remove roadblocks.Collaborate across engineering, program management, and customer teams to ensure alignment.Provide consistent communication on progress, risks, and mitigation plans.Ensure documentation is clear, concise, and complete.Support testing, validation, and verification activities to ensure software reliability.Participate in periodic reviews to verify technical completeness.Essential Skills
Minimum 10 years of experience in embedded software development.Proven experience as an Agile Product Owner.Demonstrated proficiency using GitLab for software development and management.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team.Experience collaborating with engineering, program management, and customers.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience developing software in the Ada programming language.Experience with model-based engineering tools such as Cameo.Experience in mission-critical industries such as aerospace, automotive, defense, first responder, or medical devices.Must have an active DOD Secret clearance.Work Environment
The role operates within an Agile environment, emphasizing collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The work involves regular sprint planning and reviews, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions. The position requires the ability to address and resolve technical ambiguities and roadblocks, ensuring alignment with customer and program objectives.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Grand Rapids, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $86.53/hr.
