🔧 What You’ll Do

Architect and develop state‑of‑the‑art embedded systems for real‑time control and communicationsTransition technologies from lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypesCollaborate with hardware vendors and tool providers to solve complex industrial and defense challengesAdvance the state of the art in embedded computing within a collaborative, high‑energy R&D environmentWork alongside multidisciplinary teams to mature technologies into business products

✅ Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related fieldStrong proficiency in Embedded C/C++Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Bash, C#, Python, MATLABFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., hypervisors, Docker containers)Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skillsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available now or in the future)Ability to work onsite in Niskayuna, NYMust be 18 years or older

⭐ Desired Skills & Experience

Software & SystemsMaster’s degree in Computer Science or related fieldLinux driver and kernel development experienceWorking knowledge of Linux build systems (e.g., Yocto)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git/GitHub)Understanding of embedded system security conceptsFPGA & SoC DesignStrong FPGA and SoC development experience using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDLHands‑on experience with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) FPGAs and toolchains(Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim, etc.)Solid grasp of digital logic design (FSMs, pipelining, resource optimization)Experience with RTL simulation, synthesis, place‑and‑route, and timing closureKnowledge of clock domain crossing (CDC) and metastability mitigationFamiliarity with common interfaces:UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, PCIe, DDRTestbench development and functional verification experienceProficiency with on‑chip debugging tools (ILA, SignalTap)Ability to interpret schematics, timing diagrams, and hardware datasheetsExperience with Git or other version control systemsAdvanced Design & ModelingExperience with High‑Level Synthesis (HLS) toolsExposure to Vitis HLS and algorithm‑to‑hardware workflowsIntegration with MATLAB/Simulink for model‑based design and verification

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Schenectady, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63.00 - $67.00/hr.
