Architect and develop stateâofâtheâart embedded systems for realâtime control and communicationsTransition technologies from lab demonstrations to fieldable prototypesCollaborate with hardware vendors and tool providers to solve complex industrial and defense challengesAdvance the state of the art in embedded computing within a collaborative, highâenergy R&D environmentWork alongside multidisciplinary teams to mature technologies into business productsâ Required Qualifications
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science or a related fieldStrong proficiency in Embedded C/C++Experience with scripting and programming languages such as Bash, C#, Python, MATLABFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., hypervisors, Docker containers)Strong analytical, problemâsolving, and interpersonal skillsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available now or in the future)Ability to work onsite in Niskayuna, NYMust be 18 years or olderâ Desired Skills & Experience
Software & SystemsMasterâs degree in Computer Science or related fieldLinux driver and kernel development experienceWorking knowledge of Linux build systems (e.g., Yocto)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git/GitHub)Understanding of embedded system security conceptsFPGA & SoC DesignStrong FPGA and SoC development experience using Verilog, SystemVerilog, and/or VHDLHandsâon experience with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) FPGAs and toolchains(Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim, etc.)Solid grasp of digital logic design (FSMs, pipelining, resource optimization)Experience with RTL simulation, synthesis, placeâandâroute, and timing closureKnowledge of clock domain crossing (CDC) and metastability mitigationFamiliarity with common interfaces:UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, PCIe, DDRTestbench development and functional verification experienceProficiency with onâchip debugging tools (ILA, SignalTap)Ability to interpret schematics, timing diagrams, and hardware datasheetsExperience with Git or other version control systemsAdvanced Design & ModelingExperience with HighâLevel Synthesis (HLS) toolsExposure to Vitis HLS and algorithmâtoâhardware workflowsIntegration with MATLAB/Simulink for modelâbased design and verificationWork on missionâcritical technologies with realâworld impactCollaborate with worldâclass engineers and scientistsInfluence products that move from research to realityBe part of a culture that values innovation, collaboration, and curiosity

This is a Contract position based out of Schenectady, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $63.00 - $67.00/hr.
