Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on embedded software development, particularly in configuring and managing Linux-based servers with Ethernet interfaces. The position requires a strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including Ethernet interfaces and IPv6, and involves porting and debugging features.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software using C/C++.Engage in Linux development with an emphasis on Ethernet interface implementation.Port and debug embedded software features.Implement and manage networking protocols, with a focus on IPv6.Collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Essential Skills

4+ years of professional experience in embedded software development using C/C++.Strong experience with embedded Linux development.Solid understanding of multi-threaded and concurrent software design.Proficiency in using source control systems like Git.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.Excellent communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Ethernet switches and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPv6, DHCPv6, VLAN, ECMP, LLDP, LAG, and LACP.Experience with Secure Zero Touch Provisioning (sZTP) and BootZ.Familiarity with hardware/software interfaces such as PCIe, I2C, and SPI.Cross-compilation and remote debugging experience in embedded environments.JTAG-based debugging and board bring-up experience.Ability to read schematics and understand hardware connectivity and system-level interactions.

Work Environment

The position requires working on-site under the embedded networking team. The environment involves collaboration with team members to accelerate the speed and scale of cloud, networking, and advanced manufacturing applications.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nepean, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $76.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Nepean,ON.
