We are seeking an Embedded Networking Systems Engineer to support the Space Systems product line, contributing to the creation of robust space products that have been integral to commercial, civil, and national space missions over the past two decades. This role is pivotal in designing and developing embedded networking systems for space applications, ensuring they meet mission-critical requirements and withstand the harshest environments.
ResponsibilitiesDesign system and subsystem network architectures.Derive system and subsystem level requirements.Develop system/component test plans and procedures.Develop material for design reviews.Support design trades, analysis, and development.Support product and prototype development.Support integration and test activities.Essential SkillsProficiency in modern network technologies, including network protocols such as TCP/IP and Ethernet.Experience with network devices like switches and routers.Knowledge of network architectures including LAN and WAN.Familiarity with network layers, specifically Layer 2 and Layer 3.Experience in network simulation and modeling techniques.Understanding of network hardware and software implementation in embedded systems.Knowledge of network and cyber security operations.Understanding of TEMPEST and encryption/decryption protocols.10+ years of relevant experience in network hardware/software/systems development.Familiarity with embedded processing systems and electronics.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or scientific field.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in designing, testing, and deploying space payloads.Experience with state-of-the-art microelectronics (sub-22nm) product development.Significant understanding of the space environment.Experience in designing and testing Space Electronics.Experience generating detailed technical documentation.Experience in Model Based Engineering (MBE) and the use of SysML.Knowledge of SpaceVPX or OpenVPX standards and implementations.Master’s degree in engineering or scientific field.Work EnvironmentThis position offers a hybrid work schedule, with 50% of the time onsite. The work week follows an AWS 9/80 schedule, requiring onsite presence from Tuesday to Thursday during full weeks, and Tuesday and Wednesday during short weeks. The role involves working in a collaborative, 'borderless' environment, emphasizing a product-oriented mindset focused on reuse and future applications.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
