Job Title: Electronics Technologist

Job Description

The Electronics Technologist will play a pivotal role in supporting the design, testing, integration, and maintenance of advanced avionics, Satcom terminals, and airborne communications hardware. Collaborating with engineering teams, this position focuses on embedded systems, RF/satellite communications equipment, networked avionics devices, and aircraft connectivity solutions. The technologist will work closely with electrical engineers, embedded software engineers, product development teams, and manufacturing to ensure hardware systems meet stringent aerospace reliability and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

Design and draft electrical schematics using CAD software such as Altium, Solidworks, and AutoCAD.Conduct extensive lab testing using equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.Support engineering teams in the integration and maintenance of avionics and communication hardware.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with aerospace reliability and certification standards.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in analog circuitry and digital circuitry.Experience with CAD design and drafting for electrical schematics.Expertise in lab testing and using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic scripting skills, preferably in Python.Experience in Aerospace/Defence is preferred.Diploma or degree in Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.

Work Environment

This position requires onsite work five days a week, with standard hours from 9 am to 5 pm.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $46.00/hr.
