Electronics Technician
**Description** SAIC is seeking an **Electronics Technician** in **Hanahan, SC.** **Job Responsibilities** (include, but are not limited to) **:** + Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly + Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions + Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions + Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment + Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts **Qualifications** **Required Education:** **Electronics Technician I:** + High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors + Experience: Two (2) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout **Electronics Technician II:** + High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors + Experience: Four (4) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout **Electronics Technician III:** + High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors + Experience: Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and checkout **Other Required:** + Ability to safely complete all of the physical demands of the job in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to the following: + Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis + Walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods + Repeatedly manipulating and handling tools needed for installing electrical components, Mechanical parts and metal work into vehicles. Familiar with the use and operation of power tools is necessary + Move and arrange cable supplies and electronic equipment **Desired Experience:** + Experience with cable fabrication **Required Clearance:** + Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOD Public Trust security clearance.
