Electronics Design Release Engineer

We are looking for highly motivated engineers who are driven to deliver innovative products, must be a self-starter and must work effectively multi-functionally. Working as a Design Release Engineer (DRE) can provide one with a great foundation of leadership skills. The DRE is responsible for definition of requirements, execution of design, analysis, development, testing and management of engineering projects for Electronic Control Modules where

creativity, initiative and independent judgment are involved.

 

The Components/modules you could work on in this group vary based on experience but could be in one of the following:

Body/Interior Controls HW, Engine & High Voltage Mechatronic H/W, Passive Safety, Advanced Forward Lighting and Seat Control Electronics Hardware, Chassis & Sensor Hardware, Vehicle Access Controls Hardware, Vehicle Sensing Hardware, Chassis, Fuel, Driveline, Transmission MHW, Wiring Harnesses or Switches.

 

Responsibilities:

Design and Release for Electronic components programs including all elements of hardware and softwareCapable of coordinating and driving design for manufacturing initiativesDevelops component technical specifications as well as statement of requirements and subsystem technical specificationsLeads formal design, peer, and quality reviewsPrimary engineer collaborating with the component suppliers and leads/runs supplier resident engineersPerforms complex design analysis and tackle engineering related problemsAnalyze and negotiate requirements with internal and external partners, trace their implementation throughout product development and integrationWorks with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods and product improvements, and to support build programsReleases parts and subsystems for production

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

BS in Engineering, Physics, Math, or Computer Science2+ years of related experienceKnowledge of microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming.Understanding of hardware design and failure modes in electronic modules.Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications.Demonstrated proficiency in writing and comprehending software/hardware requirements.Knowledge of software verification/validation processesKnowledge of testing and associated tools.Capability to translate text based functional requirements into software algorithms and models.High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficultJob Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Warren, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
