Northrop Grumman is in need of an Electronics Technician - Level 2 or 3 to work at its Elkton, Maryland facility.
Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models or specialized test equipment. Guidance is readily available from superiors. Works from drawings, schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications. Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to component level. Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned. Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators and similar test apparatus. Normally assigned in area such as development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like. The position will be dependent upon skills, experience, and education provided.

Basic Qualifications for level 2:
Must have 2 years of related experience or a combination of experience plus related education that includes formal training in electronic technology or equivalent to 2 years technical trade school or military technical school.Good understanding of electronics fundamentals and have intermediate computer skills.Able to read schematics and drawings, follow written and oral instructions, communicate effectively.Basic soldering skills and ability to earn IPC J-STD-001 certification with provided training.Basic wire harness assembly skills and ability to earn IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification with provided training.Ability to safely use basic hand tools and shop equipment.Experience with one or more of the following: Blueprints, Technical Drawings, Diagrams, Instructions, or Schematics.Experience operating advanced test hardware for electronics and electronic systems.Experience reviewing test plans and collaborating with engineering staff.Candidate must be a US citizen and have the ability to acquire a Secret ClearanceBasic Qualifications for level 3:
