Job Summary
At Miller Electric, the Service Electrician is responsible for servicing and installing electrical systems and equipment. Individuals in this position will service, repair, and maintain systems of all types in a client’s facility during normal working hours and are available to be listed as “on-call” 24x7 on a rotating basis. They will also perform small project electrical installations.  Service Electricians will report to a Service Manager or Project Manage. #miller

Must be an effective and professional communicator, both written and verbally, filling out daily work reports correctlyResponsive to company phone calls, emails and text messages including after normal working hoursSafely operate and maintain an electrical service vehicle in accordance with Miller Electric policies (Driver license required)Manage and care for a service vehicle, tools, material inventory, cell phone, computer, Chromebook and any other equipment items that are issued to youTroubleshoot malfunctioning systems and determine the best course of action for repairs to include Controls, Critical power such as generators and UPS systems, Structured cabling and Data communications, and Integrated Systems such as Security, Surveillance, and Access Controls. Install all systems in accordance with the NEC and any applicable standards and specificationsDemonstrate initiative and ingenuity to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications and electrical codesAccurately enter all necessary data into service management software via mobile tablet to update work orders for tracking, documentation and invoicingProvide any other required reports to management, in a clear, legible and professional manner (Time Sheets, Employee Evaluations, Vehicle Inspections, Etc.)Requisition the necessary materials, tools, equipment, and personnel necessary to complete the work orderEffectively manage resources to best control budgetsManage, train, and develop any personnel assigned to you  Qualifications Journeyman Electrician's LicenseThorough knowledge of the electrical trade and the NECUnderstands and implements OSHA requirements and the company's electric safety policiesStrong commercial and industrial electrical backgroundStrong troubleshooting skills utilizing sophisticated test equipment as applicable (DMM, Megger, IR Camera, Etc.)Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and clientsMaintain a professional appearance and conduct at all timesMaintain high levels of productivity, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracyAble to be on twenty-four hours call on a rotating basis, as neededPhysically able to perform the duties of the positionAble to work in a team environmentStrong personal interaction and communication skillsProficient in basic computer skillsApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.
