Job Summary

The Procurement Project Manager at Miller Electric reports directly to the Director and VP. This is a client-facing role that requires the ability to build relationships both in and out of the office. The Procurement Project Manager oversees the full procurement process for electrical construction projects, ensuring materials are sourced, purchased, and delivered on time and within budget. They collaborate closely with project teams, negotiate with suppliers, manage purchase orders, and resolve supply chain challenges to keep projects on schedule. This role is key to maintaining cost control, vendor performance, and the overall success of project execution. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

Oversee end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle for electrical construction projects, including material planning, sourcing, purchasing, expediting, and delivery coordination. Generate estimates, prepare and review project proposal or plan to determine and establish a time frame, work plan, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various project phases Oversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is built following design, budget, and schedule  Generate billings and lead the collections process for projects Frequent project visits with field supervision and other personnel to understand progress, needs, or issues. Assist in the planning of future labor/material needs of the project Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to the job site by working directly with vendors Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timely issuance, and alignment with project budgets and material submittals. Partner with the Prefabrication department to coordinate material kits, bulk orders, and standardized components to improve field productivity. Maintain accurate procurement documentation including purchase logs, delivery reports, submittals, and contract files. Track procurement budgets and cost variances, providing regular reporting to project leadership. Build long-term relationships with both clients and fellow employees by consistently exceeding expectations Actively interfacing with the customer to validate expectations are understood and met before, during, and after project completion Plan, coordinate, and/or manage activities of all company personnel and subcontractors on assigned project(s) Offering innovative solutions developing methods of procedures in sequence of operations Capable of locating end user's driver solutions Provide consistent feedback and reports to the business unit vice president/or Director Manage project review process with particular emphasis on financial forecasting Provide advice, guidance, mentoring, and direction to team and other junior personnel toward the achievement of their personal development goals Responsible for continuously expanding and updating professional knowledge and honing skills and competencies to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity Proactively lead the team to job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards for personnel under his or her supervision. Actively participate in industry even and community engagement activities Preparing Change Management Forms and Methods of Procedure (MOPs). Ensure all company, client, and project policies/procedures are followed as specified.  Qualifications

 

REQUIRED 

A College degree (i.e. Construction Management, Business/Finance, Electrical Engineer), journeyman’s license, or master electrician’s license  5+ years of electrical contracting project management or field experience  Understanding of electrical installations Good knowledge of how to read electrical and mechanical drawings Strong computer skills  Familiar with computer-based estimating for an item by item estimating Excellent verbal and written communication skills Procurement experience  Must understand billing and collections Excellent organizational skills Able to work independently as well as in a team environment 30 Hour OSHA Certification required within the first year Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without employer sponsorship.  Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. 

 

PREFERRED 

Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project and on-screen takeoff or ability to learn it quickly
