Electrical Project Estimator
Summary Job title: Electrical Project Estimator Job ID: null Department: Royal Power Solutions Group Location: null-null Description Summary: This position is responsible for preparing cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, reviewing drawings, and developing detailed proposals for commercial, industrial, and residential electrical projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and clients to ensure estimates are accurate, timely, and aligned with project goals. Reports to: Branch Manager or Project Management Lead Minimum Qualifications: + Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator or similar role in the electrical construction industry + Industry experience with Medium and Low Voltage Distribution Switchgear (sales or technical) is preferred + Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices + Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools + Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and project specifications + Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills + Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities + Ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications: Formal training or certification in electrical estimating, project management, or related technical fields. Working Conditions: Conditions vary and may include industrial, warehouse, office, and external environments. Some activities may include standing for extended periods and exposure to varying temperatures. Office time may include sitting for extended periods. This position is primarily onsite but may include the option to work one day per week remotely, based on business needs and manager approval. The position involves occasional travel to job sites and client meetings. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: + Review electrical plans, specifications, and project documentation to determine scope of work + Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead + Perform quantity take-offs and analyze electrical drawings + Develop bid proposals and participate in bid reviews and negotiations + Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing + Identify cost-saving opportunities, risks, and value engineering options + Maintain cost databases and historical pricing records + Collaborate with project managers to transition awarded projects into execution + Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company policies + Prepare schedules, budgets, and forecast reports as required CED is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability | Veteran Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $90000 to $100000 annually.
