We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our dynamic team. This role involves determining the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for various construction projects. The projects you'll be working on include KC Current, WW1 Museum, Hills Science Diet, Olathe PD, Blue Hawks Sports Complex, Homefield Site Lighting, Jackson County Detention Center, and KC Zoo.
ResponsibilitiesDetermine the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.Research construction documents and analyze specifications.Prepare estimates for planning, organizing, and scheduling project work.Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.Develop conceptual budgets and design/build estimates.Prepare estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.Ensure relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.Regularly report to Management and keep clients updated on the project status.Formulate contingency plans and effectively manage risks that might impact cost and time estimates.Keep track of the latest estimating technology and industry-related techniques.Collaborate with other teams, conduct site visits, and provide other services, such as bid deliveries.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree. Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.2-10 years' experience as an estimator in the construction field, with a preference for low voltage electrical experience.$2 million dollar electrical bid experience.Electrical estimating software experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsExceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.Brilliant management and negotiation skills.Ability to closely collaborate with other project teams and stakeholders.Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.Ability to perform site visits and travel if necessary.Work EnvironmentThis role requires collaboration with various project teams and stakeholders.
