Electrical Estimator
Job Title: Electrical EstimatorJob Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical Estimator to join our team. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing blueprints and other documents. You will perform accurate quantity takeoffs and work closely with engineers to understand project scopes. Responsibilities + Prepare detailed cost estimates by reviewing blueprints and other documents. + Perform accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents. + Obtain accurate and up-to-date pricing information from databases, contractors, and suppliers for use in estimates. + Input estimate takeoff information and develop unit cost pricing. + Collaborate with engineers to develop a clear understanding of project scopes. + Develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members. + Assist senior staff in enhancing project efficiency and seek ways to improve task accuracy and efficiency. + Maintain project documents such as drawings and specifications in an organized manner. + Maintain project files on the file server in accordance with company standards. + Update and maintain a data library of costs. + Prepare cost reconciliation between estimates and explain variance cost drivers. Essential Skills + Experience in estimation, electrical, construction, and bidding processes. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. + Knowledge of construction management and electrical construction. + Experience with preconstruction, Acubid, Neca, and estimating software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + A bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. + Seven years of relevant experience. + Working knowledge of electronic takeoff, including CAD Measure. + Proficiency with commercially available construction cost estimating systems. + Understanding of Information Technology, including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project. + Professional designations such as RICS, CCE, CCM, AIA, PE, ASPE, AACEI, CVS, AVS, or appraisal licensure are preferred. Work Environment This role supports a large, ongoing capital construction project, offering significant exposure to top contractors and consultants in Portland. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
