Job Title: Electrical Engineering Manager

Job Description

The Electrical Engineering Manager will lead a team responsible for the design, production, and testing of advanced ASW receiver systems, including sonobuoy receivers, RF front-end modules, and digital signal processing electronics. Reporting to the Director of Electrical Engineering, this role fosters technical excellence, team collaboration, and professional growth while driving project execution and process improvement. Additionally, you will serve as the engineering site lead, coordinating with other engineering disciplines that have a dotted-line reporting relationship into this role.

Responsibilities

Implement policies, procedures, and tools for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electrical equipment.Monitor staffing needs and develop plans to support business and program requirements.Lead recruitment efforts including requisitions, interviews, evaluations, and onboarding.Coordinate projects with technical teams and vendors to ensure milestones are met.Conduct performance reviews and support professional development of engineers/technicians.Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.Influence management on staffing, budgeting, and policy decisions.Review and approve designs, testing, and installation procedures.Foster a safe working culture and environment.Ensure programs meet cost, schedule, and technical goals.Provide leadership to resolve project execution challenges.Ensure compliance with engineering processes, policies, and standards.Provide technical oversight across multiple projects.

Essential Skills

BS in Electrical Engineering with 9+ years of experience in a complex engineering environment.Minimum 1 year of leadership experience with technical, financial, or personnel responsibilities.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects to successful outcomes.Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and Visio.Experience with schematic design tools such as Altium.Experience with simulation and modeling.Experience with proposal development, including RFPs, SOWs, and BOEs.Effective briefing skills across all organizational levels.Preferably an active U.S. Government security clearance, but willingness and eligibility to obtain one is acceptable.

Work Environment

This position is based in New York and requires 100% onsite work. The candidate will manage a team of 12 direct reports, with responsibilities split between 50% functional management and 50% technical tasks such as proposal development and acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). The role offers a collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth and development. Applicants must be eligible for a U.S. Secret Clearance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
