Tektronix is seeking a Electrical Engineering Co-op to join our Hardware Engineering team for a 6-month term. In this role, you’ll support the design and validation of hardware used in Tektronix test and measurement products, collaborating with experienced engineers in an environment that emphasizes hands-on learning, mentorship, and technical growth.
You will be paired with a dedicated engineering mentor and contribute to real product development work, including schematic development, design reviews, lab validation, and troubleshooting.
**What You’ll Do**
+ Support hardware design and validation for next-generation oscilloscope and test & measurement platforms
+ Assist with analog and mixed-signal circuit development, such as power delivery, measurement interfaces, and signal integrity considerations
+ Participate in schematic capture and PCB layout/design reviews; support hardware bring-up activities
+ Execute lab testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, power supplies, and related equipment
+ Document test results and engineering findings; communicate progress in team meetings and design reviews
+ Contribute to a scoped internship/co-op project and present results at the end of the term to engineering stakeholders
**Learning & Development**
During the term, you will gain experience in:
+ Hardware development lifecycle (requirements → design → validation → release)
+ Practical lab measurement techniques and troubleshooting methodology
+ Effective technical communication (documentation, presentations, design reviews)
+ Working within a cross-functional engineering environment
**Required Qualifications**
+ Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering (or closely related discipline) and eligible for the MECOP program
+ Coursework or foundational knowledge in circuits, analog electronics, and basic signal integrity concepts
+ Comfort working in a lab environment and following safe lab practices
+ Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly (written and verbal)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Exposure to SPICE or circuit simulation tools
+ Familiarity with schematic capture and/or PCB layout tools
+ Prior hands-on experience with oscilloscopes and other lab equipment
+ Interest in test & measurement systems, instrumentation, or oscilloscope technology
**Additional Information**
+ Candidates must be able to work full-time for the full 6-month MECOP term.
