We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in power system studies to support complex medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, primarily within mission-critical environments. This role focuses on short circuit, protective device coordination, and arc flash studies using SKM Power Tools, with opportunities to collaborate across design, commissioning, and operations teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and validate detailed SKM electrical system models for medium- and low-voltage distribution systems, including UPS systems, generators, paralleling gear, PDUs, RPPs, and dual-fed architectures.Perform short circuit studies to confirm equipment withstand ratings and identify overstressed or non-compliant equipment.Execute protective device coordination studies to ensure selective coordination and system reliability.Conduct arc flash hazard analyses and produce arc flash labels in compliance with NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, and owner-specific safety standards.Analyze system performance under normal, emergency, and maintenance operating conditions.Prepare clear, technically sound engineering reports, including mitigation recommendations, labeling requirements, and operational safety guidance.Review and interpret one-line diagrams, equipment submittals, and as-built documentation to ensure accurate system modeling.Collaborate with design engineers, commissioning teams, and facility operators to collect field data, validate assumptions, and keep SKM models and reports current.Provide technical support during design reviews, commissioning activities, system upgrades, and troubleshooting, including work in live or planned mission-critical environments.Participate in on-site commissioning and system testing as required.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.5–10+ years of experience performing power system studies; data center or mission-critical facility experience strongly preferred.Advanced proficiency with SKM Power Tools, including DAPPER, CAPTOR, and Arc Flash modules.Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and IEEE 1584.Hands-on experience with UPS systems, generator paralleling, ATS/STS equipment, and redundant distribution architectures.Excellent technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.EIT or PE license preferred, but not required.Work ArrangementIn-office or remote (depending on experience and project needs).Job Type & Location

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $140000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
