Experienced Electrical Engineer - (Power Generation/Industrial)
Job Description:
We are seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer with a focus on power generation. This role involves multi-disciplinary projects in hydro, gas, and fossil power generating facilities. Applicants should have experience in low and medium-voltage power distribution, motor controls, interfacing industrial processes to DCS/PLC systems, and using power distribution modeling software such as ETAP or SKM. The engineer will interpret, modify, and develop single lines, AC/DC elementaries, panel front views, wiring diagrams, equipment drawings, and bills of materials. Experience in renewables, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and relay protection is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Lead engineering efforts on project design through different project milestones.Coordinate with project managers to develop proposal documents and estimates.Collaborate with drafters, designers, and other engineers to prepare and check design drawings and packages.Perform design analysis using ETAP and/or SKM software.Participate in site visits and client meetings as required.Strictly adhere to electrical codes and standards, including NEC and industrial electrical codes.Essential Skills:
Electrical engineering experience in power generation.Proficiency in electrical design, ETAP, SKM, single line, AC/DC motor control.Ability to interpret and develop panel front views, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.Experience in leading engineering efforts from start to finish.Strong coordination skills with project managers.Additional Skills & Qualifications:
4-12 years of experience in the field.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher from an ABET-accredited school.Experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation is a plus.Renewables experience, such as solar and BESS, is a plus.Experience in relay protection would be beneficial.Work Environment:
The position requires travel, typically for 2-to-5-day walkdowns and occasionally for multi-week engagements. Remote work is possible from TN, AL, GA, and MS. The work primarily involves modifications and upgrades in existing facilities, focusing on power system analysis and components like motor control centers, switchboards, and switchgears.
