Electrical Engineer (Mid-Level)
Job Description The Electrical Engineer will support power plant operations by providing electrical design expertise, technical evaluations, troubleshooting support, and project engineering for capital improvement initiatives. This role involves working on complex plant systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting both planned and unplanned outages. The ideal candidate is an experienced engineer with strong low/medium voltage design skills and the ability to work independently in industrial environments. Skills and Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering 4+ years engineering experience in power generation, utilities, mining, or heavy industry Strong experience designing low and medium voltage power distribution systems Experience with electrical modeling software (ETAP preferred) Experience using AutoCAD Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70E Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record Ability to travel up to 25% (rural plant sites) Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience working with NERC standards (Generator Owner / Operator) Experience conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures Prior field engineering experience during outages or equipment failures
