Electrical Engineer
Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description As an Electrical Engineer, you will engage in a variety of assignments encompassing conceptual design, engineering analysis, detailed sub-system electrical design, integration, testing, manufacturing, and field support. You will have the opportunity to work within a multi-functional team, contributing to exciting technologies and products that support our nation's war fighters. Responsibilities + Perform detailed design of integrated electrical and communications systems on vehicles. + Conduct analysis, integration, and testing. + Participate in concept development as part of cross-functional design teams, including prototyping and production support. + Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation such as drawings, presentations, specifications, and design presentations to customers. + Contribute to proposal activity by providing input to cost estimates and potentially leading a design team. + Plan product development, produce technical white papers, and brief management/customers on planning and progress. Essential Skills + BS Degree in Electrical Engineering. + 2+ years of real-world experience. + Extensive design and integration experience in military and/or commercial systems, control systems, EMI/EMC, power, and safety. + Familiarity with Systems Engineering and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation & test. + Hands-on experience troubleshooting electrical cabling and digital communication. + US Citizenship is required and must be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Design and integration experience with cable design, wire harness design, hardware safety and risk analysis, RF link budgets, hardware environmental and electromagnetic qualification to military standards. + Experience with HALT and ESS testing, GPS and RF communication systems integration, AC and DC power and motors, motor controllers, and brakes. + Knowledge in Ethernet and networking, CAN bus, batteries (Lithium), power converters, fault tree development and criticality analysis, programming and algorithm development, grounding and environmental control. + Experience with power test equipment such as electronic load banks. + Wired Ethernet and Network configuration experience is a plus. Work Environment The work schedule follows a 9/80 format, providing every other Friday off. The facility is state-of-the-art, offering ample resources for training and growth. The work involves designing and developing test and simulation hardware and software for Electronic Warfare applications, which includes systems for simulating enemy radar or missile threats to test aircraft sensors and electronics, or for training pilots. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Hunt Valley, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr.
